Hello
{!firstname}
You may have noticed I missed sending out a
newsletter last month. I
had every good intention of getting one together, even though I was on
vacation, visiting family and friends in the UK. However, it just
didn't happen.
I did have a wonderful relaxing time! I also
had fun attending a Wardrobe Magic workshop run by one of the UK's
leading image consultant's, Sue Donnelly.
A week after I got back
I headed off again, up to the Gold Coast coast for the
Dream! Believe! Achieve! Australian image consulting
conference. I've come back fired
up to start running image consulting workshops. Initially they'll be
held here at my home in Avalon, but I'm also intending to find a way of
delivering workshops as webinars. See
below for information on the
first scheduled workshop.
Since I was in the UK during September
I got to see the Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 new fashions in person. You'll
find my trend articles here for the
northern hemisphere and here
for
the southern hemisphere.
I've also answered
another reader's
question. I've fallen behind a bit with answering incoming
questions --
I'll try and make it up over the coming months!
See the
winning entry for the Conscious Shopping Course.
Enjoy this month's Style
Snippets. Until next month, all the best
PS I always welcome your feedback, so please
contact me with anything you'd like to see either on the website or in
this newsletter (reply to this email or use the Contact Me link below).
Winner of Conscious Shopping Course
Back in August I ran a competition to give
away an email mini-course from Jill Chivers of Shop Your Wardrobe.
Frances from Australia won with the
following entry:
My
worst shopping disaster
Last year
I noticed a new little boutique
had opened. The dress in the window was beautiful as was the women who
owned the shop. She was also a designer and made clothes to measure. I
told her how much trouble I had with buying clothes as I am only 4 ft
10 in and on the chubby side. Could she design a capsule wardrobe for
my shape as I was very uncertain about what I should be wearing?
Yes, yes
she could do that: $3000 for
linen/ silk 2 pairs of pants; one skirt; 2 blouses; 1 evening top; 1
jacket.
The pants
were so wide I could have sailed
away. Evening top was a bat winged long bloused affair all you could
see was a silverly grey ball that had a head and 2 little feet. Jacket
had waves of material right on my hips that made me look like I was
about to fly away.
I just
cried! How did she get it so wrong?
I did not wear any of the clothes -- gave them all away.
Poor Frances. Hopefully Jill's course will help her. I
also suggest she checks out my article on the 6
steps to savvy style.
