Jane's Jottings
Well here we are almost at the end of 2020. And who could have imagined, back in January, what a year it would be!
Our clothes had become pretty casual even before the virus hit. But this year lounge wear and exercise gear has become the mainstay for many women!
Working at my local Decjuba (in Avalon) has kept me going this year. The clothing styles do seem to be even more comfortable and casual than in previous years. Track pants, sweats, shorts, and t-shirts have been selling well. However, recently the main trend has been for dresses. It seems that even though we still want to be comfortable, we also want to dress up a bit for Christmas get-togethers. Most of our dress styles this year are tiered, long, flowing styles, rather than fit-and-flare styles. I've noticed this trend in many other stores too.
Inspired by some questions from a good friend, I've realised that not everyone knows how to put together an evening outfit, especially a casual evening outfit. So this month's article is all about the style elements that say 'evening', with examples of how to add a few of these elements to casual clothes to create evening looks.
